Bumbershoot '25
By 2025, Bumbershoot had firmly reestablished itself as a living part of Seattle’s cultural landscape.
Produced by New Rising Sun and Third Stone, in partnership with Seattle Center, the festival continued refining the model introduced during its relaunch in 2023. The emphasis remained clear: restore Bumbershoot as a multidisciplinary civic gathering that reflects the full breadth of Seattle’s creative ecosystem.
In 2025, the festival leaned even further into its identity as a cultural umbrella, not just a music festival, but a city-wide celebration of art, performance, film, fashion, culinary arts, and experimental programming. Across Seattle Center, visitors encountered exhibitions, installations, performances, and community programming alongside the festival’s music stages.
The year also reflected growing stability. After years of financial uncertainty and structural transitions during the 2010s, Bumbershoot had begun settling into a sustainable model built around partnerships with regional artists, cultural organizations, and civic institutions.
More than five decades after Festival ’71, the festival’s purpose felt newly clear: not simply to headline artists, but to create a space where Seattle’s creative communities and audiences gather under one umbrella.
